HOUSTON – May 20, 2014 --  Torchy’s Tacos, the popular taco shop, is set to open their fourth Houston area location in Katy, Texas on Thursday, June 12.

The Katy location will be located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.  The location will offer Torchy’s full menu all-day, including favorites like the Fried Avocado (fresh avocados, refried beans, pico, lettuce, cheese, and poblano ranch) and the Brushfire (jerk chicken, jalapenos, mango, sour cream, cilantro and Diablo hot sauce).  Guests can also enjoy a signature sip from Torchy’s appropriately-dubbed Firewater menu like the Lorena (habanero-infused tequila with grapefruit, lime and salt), plus other handcrafted brews from local players St. Arnold’s, Karbach, and Katy’s own No Label Brewing.  Daily specials and a week-long happy hours should also be expected.

Torchy’s will be offering free breakfast tacos through 10AM on grand opening day Thursday, June 12th.   Starting at 7AM, visitors will receive one (1) free breakfast item of their choice as either a dine-in or to-go meal.  Favorites include the Monk Special (scrambled eggs with green chilies, bacon and cheese on a flour tortilla) and the Ranch Hand (grilled skirt steak, eggs, and Diablo hot sauce).

About Torchy’s Tacos:

Torchy’s Tacos started in 2006 with a mobile trailer, a little red Vespa, and a man with a passion for good food.  Seven years ago, Mike Rypka left an executive chef position to chase his dreams by investing everything he had into Torchy’s Tacos.  With a new, experimental menu ready to serve but no mouths to feed, Rypka jumped on his Vespa and started throwing out samples in an attempt to draw customers to his trailer.  Before he knew it, people were rallying beside the taco stand hollering, “damn these tacos are good!” and the Torchy’s Tacos’ legacy began.  Today, Torchy’s Tacos operates 22 locations throughout Texas.
