LaCenterra's July 4th BIG Backyard Barbecue


WHAT:

It's time again for LaCenterra's July 4th BIG Backyard Barbecue! The Independence Day tradition kicks off Wednesday, July 4 at 5:30 p.m. with a tasty blend of rock ‘n’ roll, Texas country, Southern rock and boogie-woogie blues served up by Houston-area party favorites Pirate Radio and, back by popular demand, Outlaw Lynn and Who’s Drivin¿. Guests are invited to relax and enjoy an evening of live entertainment, great food, a colorful Kids’ Zone and an incredible fireworks display by Pyrotecnico.

Pirate Radio
Pirate Radio is "Houston's newest must-see rock band," as proclaimed by 94.5 The Buzz. This impressive group of musicians serves up a mix of rock, disco, funk and country. The band includes D.J. (keyboard, rhythm guitar and lead vocals), David (lead guitar), Doug (drums) and Dizzy (bass guitar and backing vocals).  Get ready to tune in and sing-along with Pirate Radio.

Outlaw Lynn & Who’s Drivin¿

Outlaw Lynn & Who’s Drivin¿ offers a rockin’ blend of outlaw country, Southern rock and Texas red dirt originals, as well as well-known Heartland and country favorites.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Guests are invited to visit the Patriotic Outpost presented by the Katy Area Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), Post 9182, and stock up on all things red, white and blue.  Proceeds benefit Katy Area VFW programs for active and retired military personnel and their families.  While there, say “Thank you” to a soldier by signing one of the banners on display. Banners will be presented to area VA hospitals. 

Returning to the 2012 celebration is Vets Journey Home. Visit with representatives to learn more about the unique weekend programs offered to veterans designed to help heal the emotional wounds of combat duty.

The Kids’ Zone is back! Located behind Fish City Grill and Kenzo Sushi Bistro, Pump It Up hosts the children’s play area. Little ones can enjoy the “Red, White and Bounce” inflatables, hang out with colorful clowns and face painters – and more!

Food and beverages will be available along Restaurant Row located between Flip Flop Shops and Sugar & Spice, as well as throughout the center.  Items available include beer, wine, sodas, water and those all-American cookout favorites – burgers and hot dogs! Plus, tasty grab-n-go options from sushi and gyoza to brisket sandwiches and nachos. Proper ID is required at all beverage stations. Picnic baskets permitted. No outside alcohol allowed.  Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome (and encouraged) as seating is limited.

Surface and garage parking is available. Overflow parking is available at Cinco Ranch High School, Cinco Ranch Junior High and Cinco Ranch Branch Library. Please note: To ensure pedestrian safety, the interior drives and some entrances will close to traffic at 4:30 p.m.  Vehicles parked at event start must remain in place through the duration of the event.
